Not for the faint of heart, the 2015 Intrepid is a Côte-Rôtie inspired Syrah, which without our soil’s character, would cease to exist. The nose is brambly, slightly gamey and draws you into a world of beef jerky, bacon fat and dark berry compote. An iron fist meets a leather glove, as the tannins are grippy, yet well integrated. Its complex mouthfeel is complemented by an oak presence that will continue to garner this blend over the next 10-15 years.
