100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Marking a decade of excellence, Law Estate debuts its inaugural reserve Cabernet. However, the best part of this wine is also the worst part of this wine: a small quantity produced in vintages deemed superior for Cabernet. That being said, the deft craftmanship at the hands of Winemaker Philipp Pfunder is evident in this wine. Tenure working in the cellars of Screaming Eagle, HDV and Chateau Angelus were part of Phil's path that leading to his confident assertion that the 2019 Cabernet fruit from the Law Vineyard is world-class. The aromatics and flavors are bursting with black currant, violets and cassis, while sparks of graphite, eucalyptus and cedar bounce off the robust structure, carrying this wine long on the palate. We hope for future vintages like the 2019 Cabernet with a slight increase in production. The 2019 Cabernet from Law will be allocated to Black Label Members with a longer tenure on our list. All members will be able to make a wish list request, which we will review at the end of this release. 96+ points - Robert Parker
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Produced only in the most exceptional vintages for Cabernet on the property, the 2021 Reserve Cabernet is completely impenetrable to light, deep, dark, and concentrated in flavor with generous varietal aromatic intensity. A hint of herbaceous pyrazine harmoniously unifies with black and red currants, along with a touch of cassis. Cabernet’s affinity to oak is showcased beautifully; the 100% new French oak is exceptionally well-integrated, providing notes of clove, aniseed, baking spice and a hint of vanilla. While the ultra-fine-grained tannins are prominent along the gumline, they frame the beautiful fruit and complexity of flavor well. You will taste and ‘feel’ this wine as it leaves a remarkable impression unfolding waves of complexity and intrigue throughout its journey across the palate. Although dangerously appealing right now, patience will reveal an undoubtedly brilliant evolution. 98+ points - Robert Parker 95-97+ points - Jeb Dunnuck
