Beyond Category expresses a rich, velvety texture, bursting with black plums, a hint of chocolate, an array of savory umami flavors, and a touch of sage. This full-bodied wine carries high levels of finely powdered, “cheeky” tannins, along with a framework of beautiful acidity that Graciano contributes to the blend. Fermented at 60% whole cluster the Graciano also conveys a leafy tea, cinnamon, blackberry, and underbrush tone, accented by ripe red perfumed fruit from the Grenache and the impeccable balance and complexity of Carignan. A refined and evolved character has developed as a result of having seen 27 months in 60% new French oak.
