The 2021 Prima walks a tightrope of power and finesse, with inconceivable complexity in flavors and aromas that leave you speechless. A blend of four different clones of Mourvèdre on the property, the 2021 vintage paints a picture that represents the variety flawlessly. It features brambly primary red and black fruit, along with beautiful crushed stone minerality, intertwined with leather, cured meat, and pepper-like spice. Mastering the structural balancing act, Prima’s tannins are grippy yet assertive and in perfect harmony with its full body and great mouthwatering acidity. Just shy of 20% whole cluster and 69% new French oak aging add complexity, contributing cinnamon and stalk-like spice from the stems, accentuated by a touch of vanilla from the oak. The 2021 Prima is absolutely teeming with energy and concentration and will age gracefully if allowed to do so; it is undeniably delicious upon release!
