The 2016 Sōph is a red drinker’s white; displaying a clean complexity alongside an intriguing balance. Its youthful blonde hue shimmers in the glass and is immediately followed by juicy Anjou pear and ruby red grapefruit on the nose. Underlying layers of vanilla, flint and cardamom seed soon follow, hinting at its incredible texture and weight on the palate. White cherry blossoms up front and a silky mid-palate rest on a backbone of fresh acidity. The finish is alluring and memorable and will be enjoyed over the next ten years.
