The cool nature of 2023’s vintage set the stage for the most captivating version of our beloved SŌPH. In creating this Rhone-inspired white blend, every block and clone of the estate’s Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette Blanch, and Grenache Blanc were meticulously blended to craft this exceptional white wine—it’s perfection, embodying brilliance and elegance from the start. Harvesting the Marsanne in two picks, 10 days apart, allowed this varietal to feature varied nuances and layers of ripeness, which heavily influenced the complexity and brightness of SŌPH’s overall structure. Its golden, straw-yellow color welcomes you with a tremendously savory and bright nose, bursting with the aromas of yellow apple, pear, crisp white peach, lemon, nectarine, and mangosteen. A well-integrated touch of almond, vanilla, and spice smoothly reveals this wine’s time in French oak (49% new) and concrete egg, adding to the luscious, full-bodied mid-palate. The wine boasts great density with a pop of freshness that dances across the palate, precise and focused.
